My Philosophy, My Teaching Goals
In tango we interact with the bodies and souls of other people. I treasure the experience of the deep non-verbal conversation that comes from a comfortable embrace and proper body movement. Both emotional and physical comfortableness are necessary for a good Tango experience. This is why I am very strict with basic technique. In my previous career as a midwife and nurse, I have learned that even a single touch can release the pain of the body and soul if we care for that person. Tango is the same, one shared experience of love and care in the dance can change even your life. On the other hand, one negative intention or bad treatment can destroy your day.
My teaching goal is to share the sense of joy and love that I receive from Tango by teaching both the sensuous experience of the movements and the intellectual body mechanics. There are so many things to enjoy and learn in Tango. Tango can be a life-long hobby, playing with musicality, learning history and lyrics, or investigating your own way of expression. Those are also the things that I love to share in my classes. The gifts that I received from the teachers, partners, and blissful milongueros who have passed through my arms are now in my body and soul. It is now my turn to share these gifts with you.
