Treasures Of Tango
I have touching memories. Tango music by itself is already beautiful and complete, in order to make magic happen all we need is to live in the moment with an open heart.
Very good social dancers can make me feel like i’m dreaming. This sounds extreme but sometimes they can lead me to a story of the song and this makes me see colors in the songs, smell the air, or even they can make me cry as if we were living in a story. The experienced dancers (both in life and in Tango) carry pains and flowers of life in their soul, as Tango songs do. Without words they share those treasures of life with me.
Other times I enjoy a different types of connection. When my partner and I have strong bond, sympathy and trust in person, our souls get closer until unite, in an embrace. I feel as if we become one four-legged animal with one soul, and there is no more distance between us. When he moves the pow, instinctively I move the tail.
All these special chemistries can happen when I stop thinking and let the mind and body awake inherently. It has felt as if I were a baby who smiles or cries while emotion passes wordlessly through my mind. We are so used to feeling and acting through words, and I believe this inherence of Tango makes Tango so special.
Another key part of my journey through dance was to accept myself as a woman. In modern society, both men and women want the equal rights and the freedom to work or behave in a same way. I think everything about that is good until we deny our gender entirely. In the embrace of a man I often discover that we both need each other. When I start dancing with my intuition, naturally I become a woman and we start to compensate for each other. One part of the beauty and art of Tango for me is this strong bond. I believe that all the elegance, musicality, or creativity comes from the nature of humanity.
